Prosthesis - Br. SIDARAVIČIAUS klinika

This is a way to restore the missing teeth and their rows, lost biting and chewing functions. Teeth prostheses mean all products made by teeth technicians in the laboratory that are used by dentists for the restoration of damaged teeth and replacement of missing teeth.

Dental prosthesis is a complex procedure consisting of diagnostics, treatment planning, preparation of dental abutments, manufacture of prosthesis and their fixing in the patient’s mouth.

Metal-free ceramic constructions are used for prosthesis in our clinic. This is the newest material best meeting aesthetic criteria. It is light-conducting, similar to dental characteristics by colour and transparency, distinguished for longevity and wear resistance. Metal-free ceramics is mostly used on the basis of Zirconium Oxide. This is a very strong material, otherwise called “ceramic steel”; therefore it may be used to restore all dental groups. This material is bio-compact – well tolerated by the body, not causing any side effects and oral lesions.

The patient is offered the most appropriate prosthesis method depending on the situation.

Dental crowns

Dental crownsA dental crown is artificial, the same size, colour and shape as a natural tooth coating covering the damaged surface, reinforcing and protecting him from fractures, other traumas.
During orthopaedic treatment, the patient’s damage tooth is prepared for the placement of a crown. During this stage of orthopaedic treatment a tooth print is made according to which a dental technician prepares an individual tooth crown in the laboratory. In the meantime when a permanent crown is made, the dentist places a temporary crown. Appearance and properties of permanent crowns are very similar to genuine teeth. The main shortcoming of this prosthesis method – natural teeth have to be polished and serve as abutments.

Dental bridges

Dental bridgesBridge prosthesis may fill a defect after the loss of a tooth. In this case adjacent teeth are polished and coated with crowns with an interim part replacing one’s own teeth. In other words, a bridge of artificial teeth is “suspended” on abutments.

Nevertheless, it is not rational to restore lost teeth with prosthesis bridges if dental abutments near the opened niche are absolutely healthy. In order to avoid damage to adjacent teeth, an alternative teeth replacement method – teeth implants may be chosen.

Prosthesis on implants

PProsthesis on implantsThis is one of the best ways of teeth prosthesis. On implants both, individual crowns and bridges may be installed. In this case the implant serves as a tooth’s root. The result of teeth prosthesis on implants is equivalent to the look of natural teeth. With such prosthesis, a person may again lead a good quality life, not to be ashamed of his/her looks, eat foods he/she is fond of. Maintenance is the same as that of natural teeth.

PlatesA dental plate – is a removable orthodontic apparatus with a plastic base fixed with supporting parts to the teeth from the palate side. Plates (partial or full-jaw) are used to restore the lost teeth when it is not possible to make bridge prosthesis and when the treatment of teeth with implants is not applied.

Partial plates are made when one or several teeth are missing in the mouth. A dental plate is fixed to the remaining teeth with hooks (most often metal). This improves the stability of prosthesis in the mouth. Plates of the upper jaw have a basis covering the palate, and plastic teeth instead of those missing in your mouth. By screwing in at least several implants for the prosthesis of toothless jaws, it is possible to make removable plates to be fixed to the implants. This ensures the stability of prosthesis in the mouth cavity.
